Brunei Gateaway

Assalamualaikum and hello,

So here’s some update,  last a few weeks I travel to Brunei.  Okay why Brunei? . Firstly, my original plan I want to do a solo travel to tick my life bucket list (solo travel at least once in my life) and Brunei is the perfect place because it is one of the safest place I guess to do a solo travel and really easy to find halal food because it was a last minute plan and I am a little bit lazy to do research about halal food. So I guess it perfect place to do halal food haunting. But you know not all our plans will go accordingly. Abah did not allow me to go by my own so yeah my little sister accompany me so from solo travel to duo travel but I do have fun. So here’s some itinerary and budget for 3 days and 2 nights in Brunei.

Day 1(29 July)*sleep over in KL Airport due to early flight

*trick if you guys want to jimat I do recommend you guys to take KLIA Transit to Putrajaya (RM 12+ kot per person than from Putrajaya to KLIA 2 RM 9+ per person so jimat rather than KLIA Express it cost RM 55 per way so happy travel)

08:00am  : KUL- BGW ( RM 674 /2 RM 337  per person)
*our flight has been rescheduled from 6 am to 8 am  and I brought the ticket like 1 week before the travel date so for me it is quite expensive maybe if you plan early you can get more cheaper)

11: 00am : Estimated arrival to BGW
*free airport pickup by our hotel so yeah

11:15 am : Check in hotel Le Gallery Suites ( $ 68 for 2 nights /2 $ 34 per person)

Phts: Google
Review about the hotel (LeGallery Suites)
It was a last minute plan so I booked via Booking.com because I preferred to pay accommodation upon arrival and by cash. So Le Gallery Suites is 3 star hotels  and it's located quite at the middle of Bandar Bengawan and it's surrounded with café’, convenience store and the place I plan to go it just only walking distance so yeah. They also provide airport shuttle for pickup until 4 pm is free of charge if 4 pm above it will be chargeable $10 so yeah. The room is quite okay reasonable with price, because this is one of cheapest hotel I would say, but their toilet cleanness I would rate average. Overall I will rate 7/10

12:30 pm : Having a lunch at MyTown café it just located beside the hotel

phts: Google

Review about MyTown Café
The ambience was so good, at first we thought the price would be a little bit pricey because the decor of the café quite good. Usually in Malaysia it will be quite pricey but we were shocked it quite okay not more than $10 for our lunch for 2 people so I guess in Brunei if you want to do food haunting. I am totally highly recommended. The taste was good, the ambiance was good and the price also good. I will rate 10/10 for this café.

01: 15 pm : Visit to Mahkota Dubli Emas (5 minutes walking distance from the hotel)

One of the beautiful mosque : Oman Ali Saifuddien Mosque

03: 00 pm : Visit to Royal Regalia Museum  (actually it was 6 mins walking distance but we lose so  it’s about 10 mins juga la walking distance)

Royal Regalia Museum
The entrance was free which am I quite shocked because this museum is so well maintained. It shows they don’t care about profit. The museum was so nice but we did not allow to take photo in here only kat luar je. It was nice I totally recommended if you guys wanna to try or learn about their history.

04:30 pm : Actually I plan to go to Tasek Lama unfortunately it starts raining and we were stuck at random place waiting the rains stop so we decided to go back to the hotel.

06:00 pm : Went back to the hotel and rest
*My little sister sakit kaki pulak so yeah duduk la dlm hotel watching crime TV and makan Maggie
p/s wifi dorang laju gilos

Day 2 (30 July )

10:00 am : Breakfast at MyTown café

It is only cost less then $ 10 (delis and so cheap)

10:30 am: Visit Tasek Lama Recreational Park (10 minutes walking distance)

11:15 am: Reach at Tasek Lama Recreational Park

Tasek Lama Recreational Park
To honest it’s  quite far but I am happy enjoying walking. Tasek Lama is totally suited to its name is totally lama betul. This place was okay is like a hidden gem in the middle of this city , the reason why I want to go here because it was nature and I want to see the waterfall huhu. Is not that big but it was okay and there are not many people come here so I am so happy to take a picture.
Then we randomly went to hotel café to refreshing our self. The weather quite hot.Random juice $7 for two juices

01:00 pm : Visit Kampong Ayer

Phts by : myself

Kampong Ayer
This place also one of the attractions in Brunei. I quite amazed at the middle of town it has kampong and floating, not only kampong, their school so I quite amazed. So we are randomly taking a boat to go round this kampong ayer by boat it takes like an hour  it cost $15 two person we get a discount  usually they will charge $20 for two person.

01: 15 pm : Back to  our hotel , rest

04:30 pm : When to Mall at Gadong ( it takes 10 minutes by car or van , we got an offer from our driver who pick us up Mr Ibrahim and he will charge $5 per way so okay la)

phts by :myself

The Mall
The Mall is the largest mall in Brunei. I do read some review on TripAdvisor they said is not that big not that grand compare from their local mall. I do agree, but for me I feel okay it does met my expectations maybe because I already read about the review. Honestly,  I consider it was okay not that bad.

*I was amazed with the signboard were written in Jawi because Jawi I only find during my Agama class but this everywhere and I can read it so I am a little girl who happy with Jawi signboard.

*There are not many souvenir stalls so there are not many choices so we only grab that we consider okay

07:00 pm: When to Pasar Malam Gadong (5 mins walking distance from Gadong Mall)

Gadong Night Market
I do totally highly recommend if you guys want to try some food but mostly all food same like in Malaysia but the different it just the taste. This night market is very clean (I was amazed with their cleanness) and the food is so cheap. They also sell like bihun or mee goring in plastic like our childhood memories 50 cent je  and I highly recommend their ayam bbq 5 ringgit only.
08:00 pm : Going back to our hotel via Van by Mr Ibrahim $ 5 per way

Day 3 (31 July)
11:30 am : Having our brunch in the hotel restaurant

Me and food guess what it only cost $ 20 halal food heaven in Brunei

02: 00 pm : Reach at Bengawan Airport by Van $ 20 per way (it took only 15 minutes from our hotel to Airport)

So end of my itinerary I hope you guys enjoy and happy travel J . Please make dua for me to travel again. Ameen and so do you too. In conclusion,  I do recommend for people who want to do solo travel and just enjoying the halal food here .  For nature , there is some place if I not mistaken Jerudung  it quite far from Bandar Seri Begawan . Definitely will come again for nature and food. I hope this will beneficial for you to do some info.  Adios

Assalamualaikum and hello guys, We met again for my post segment ‘one year one country’. For this year, Alhamdulilah I have un-tick my wish list ‘one year one country’ to Medan, Indonesia. So for this year, Farah is my travel partner (previous post, my Phuket travel partner) as I can say, my Medan getaway is like my short honeymoon because it was so calm and I do happy for this travel. Alhamdulilah is was great and everything was so smooth.  So here’s my itinerary; My recap journey for 4 days 3 nights Medan - Berastangi – Samosir Island – Medan DAY 1 02:55 PM     KLIA 2 – KUALANAMU AIRPORT (Medan) * RM 163 (return flight, no luggage) 03:00 PM - Reach Kualanamu Airport (Medan is one hour delay from Malaysia time zone) *we decided to  stay at Berstangi due to last ferry to Samo

Au revoir 2018~

Assalamualaikum and peace upon to you, Alhamdulillah we have already stepped into the New Year. Alhamdulillah Allah is still giving us the opportunity for living in this year.   So Happy New! So as usual, I am going to recap what has happened in 2018. In one word I would describe my 2018 will be consistency. Every month I will put a monthly goal eg: read 3 books at least a month. Alhamdulillah, mostly I have achieved so let’s rewind back:   1)      One year in one country Last year, I went to Indonesia with my travel partner Aini . One of the best trip, I am so happy everything runs smoothly as planned. Even though, it was quite a last minute plan, I only manage to plan the itinerary only one month. Alhamdulillah it runs so smoothly and Allah do ease our journey. It is one of my favourite trip not because I make the itinerary but the most calmest trip because of the people, nature and everything. I feel like I am having a honeymoon during the trip.
